In 2014 a horse named Lucille was found pregnant and shot, left for dead, alone.
But Lucille's story was never meant to be defined by circumstance.
Here, Lucille teaches us that life happens when you show up for the moment.
Lucille is the oldest member of our livestock herd, more than 30 animals living on this land without the labels humans put on them.

My name is Brett, thanks for stopping by. I started farming flowers and building this sanctuary to find a place where I mattered.
Modern life gets so busy sometimes, we forget where we stand.
Farming is hard, and I struggled. I launched a local farm and I failed.
I lost everything, and couldn't see the path in front of me anymore. And that's the moment that everything changed.
This land showed me that the path was never in front of you.
It's always right underneath your feet.
I learned the most powerful tool we have is just showing up.
So I built a sanctuary to do the same for you, too.
This was never just about a bracelet.
It's about being in something bigger, together.
This is about never having to search for meaning alone.
The truth is I made this because I needed it. That's how I know it works.

The Legacy Barn
Our growing sanctuary farm houses more than 30 "livestock" animals living without the labels humans imposed on them.
Legacy Learning
The one-of-a-kind outreach program from the sanctuary targeting urban youth. More than 58% of these youth have had no meaningful interaction with a large animal or agriculture.
Our program uses the stories and animals of the Legacy Barn to provide SEL and STEM educational experiences, for free to participating schools, supported by you.
Each child in a Legacy Learning seminar receives a youth Invisible String Bracelet (paracord version) as they enter the circle with all of us.
